COSMO-SkyMed multi-temporal image of Winam Bay, Lake Victoria – invasive water hyacinthsThis image demonstrates how multi-temporal SAR imagery from the COSMO-SkyMed (CSK) constellation can be used for monitoring and change detection. The colour image is a composite of three radar images acquired at different dates by different satellites of the constellation:. A colour channel is assigned to each image: Grey areas appear where few changes took place between the dates – buildings, roads, infrastructure... Black is water. Colours show changes. In this case the colours show the growth of South American water hyacinths invading the lake and clogging much of the shoreline. |
